How did you attract /address your audience ?
We thought about the genre of our film ( psychological Thriller ) and we thought that allowing children under the age of 15 to watch such films, this may psychologically harm them so we thought it woulkd be a bad idea as we may be exposing them to things their parents do not feel comfortable exploiting to them. So to avoid this stigma, We targeted it for children who would have been more able to understand the situation.

Audience Theorys
HYPODERMIC NEEDLE MODEL.
This is the idea that when people watch things they go on to believe exactly what is portrayed to them. A great example of this would be : Blood Diamond

This film was about the war in Sierra Leone & how Sierra Leoneans survived through the 9 year war. After this film became successful, people then became to believe Sierra Leone as a war zone type of country and even though the war has been finished for the last 17 years or so, people still believe Sierra Leone to be a dangerous country.
USES & GRAFICATIONS.
The idea that people use the media in different ways for different reasons. 'its not what the media does, it's what you do to the media.'
For example: Dreamgirls - A film by the famous 'Beyonce Knowles'.
The film by these ladies was suppose to represent power and struggles that a woman goes through, instead it portrayed more or less issues about weight. the perfect size someone had to be when popular and also the ideal size for a 'black' woman. in the picture, we see the woman dressed in brown surrounded by her friends who were all slimmer than her about the same average size each. This film created a certain size for women and showed the problems of not being that size.
